Food assistance is a powerful instrument in alleviating chronic hunger and establishing a base for future food security . It is a practice vital in saving the lives of people affected by disasters like Covid-19.
Just like any other group of people, women involved in plastic bottle waste management working with Centre for Peace and Conflict Mitigation , CEPCOM -Uganda were hard hit by Covid-19 and it’s related negative effects.
Therefore Cepcom-Uganda in partnership with Care and Assistance for Forced Migrants ,CAFOMI and Coca-Cola supplied food items to women working to safe guard the environment from plastic bottle waste. Assorted food items were given to over 45 women to complement their daily food needs.
