Urban authorities’ attempts to ban plastic materials without proper incentive and management structures can barely succeed since noncompliance and persistent community littering thrive where there are no adequate disposal systems in place. Anti Plastic policies ought to be supported by an effective waste management system and the will to enforce such policies.
Grwing Partnerships with the informal sector for the supply of used plastic bottles, reduces plastic waste and socially empower vulnerable populations. The Year 2020 was hard in all aspects, the only desired goal was to survive amidst frustration of failed systems, a safe and healthy environment could be the only choice to save the world therefore responsible plastic disposal remains a life saving practice if 2021 could even offer any better hope to survive.
Humankind is desperate for healthy and safe mother earth. .Centre for Peace and Conflict Mitigation , CEPCOM -Uganda leverages on partnership at different levels in environmental protection and regeneration for the desire of Building Bridges for Peaceful Co-existence. The earth turned sick, it lost its ability to co-exist with humanity, its breath turned toxic to humanity, it is fighting back against the selfish race of humanity that pollutes the source of breath, food and water .
Each of us can start now to recreate peace with mother earth by picking up plastic waste from our surroundings , save our water bodies, allow the earth to breath free of plastic for our own survival….the earth with her soils fight back, they turn the food, air and food poisonous. we appreciate our partners Zenzero Associazione for the continued zeal to save mother earth .
Mr. Stephen Kuteesa the Centre for Peace and Conflict Mitigation , Cepcom -Uganda Executive Director, is committed to champion activities for a healthy and accommodative environment.
