Recycling Waste Plastics to save “Mother” Earth

With the aim of promoting a symbiotic relationship between communities and their Eco-systems for sustained peaceful coexistence, CEPCOM  continues to mobilize communities under the key theme, My Environment , My Identity  emphasizing each and everyone’s role in keeping the environment clean and healthy, as in return it feeds us.

From this background, if plastics are collected and recycled, CEPCOM  looks at garbage in terms of: school fees for our children, daily food, and generally, a source of livelihood yet at the same time, a pathway to ensuring the health of our lovely “Mother” Earth.

CEPCOM, works with communities especially women to collect used plastic bottles  to preserve our environment as well as creating a source of income.

The CEPCOM Executive director Mr.Kuteesa Stephen guided the visiting partners from Italy during the field visit. CEPCOM works with over 25 women in the areas of Kajjansi to collect the waste plastic bottles, sort them according to color, pack them into bales then resell  for recycle. #Myenvironmentmyresponsibility
