Solid-waste starts with proper Disposal Methods and practices.
Rudimentary solid waste disposal methods by communities for example; open burning, indiscriminate littering among others, accounts for multiple resultant direct and indirect negative effects on the ecosystem.
Such methods have resulted into pollution of natural soils for agro-production, pollution of water sources, air pollution, contamination of natural Habitats among others. All these are detrimental to achieving sustainable coexistence.
Through the biodiversity conservation #Hubs, CEPCOM-Uganda trains communities on proper domestic solid waste disposal methods and practices including innovative Circular economy approaches to attain dual results of a solid waste free Environment and improved community livelihoods through alternative green employment.
